We wen’t for a cup of coffee in central Copenhagen. Olle offered to pay with his brand new Visa card, but it wasn’t activated yet. Happily i had loads of change to spend as i was just going back home. I took a bus to the Airport after the coffee and ended up walking quite a bit in a quiet residential area near the airport before i found my way there. Luckily i had a lot of time at hand.
Olle is a guy who’s always keen on learning new and interesting programming techiques and languages. Sometimes i wonder how he finds time to learn all those new things, but then again he’s self-employed unlike me…
He is a Logo guy. Or, at least, he can fiddle a bit with the programming in Logo when he wants to.
Skills we will never use in a work setting. Cool.
A very friendly, super-productive, make-it-real programmer, who drops great software on the world. Think of all those coins in Super Mario Brothers, those all represent stuff like Rake and other Jimified Ruby goodies.
I almost saw him in a video, once. Wasn’t him.
He told me that his company name needs to remove the word “Crazy” from it. “Bad for credibility.” he said, or something to that effect.
“Okeedokee” was Peter Rukavina’s business name for a while. It also lacked the gusto of other names.
Perhaps you should go with a number. Everyone does that these days.
Some kind of amazing JavaScript. In the sweetest style. And the pith on that man.
At the going-away reception for David, in Copenhagen, I stood next to a guy who nursed a beer.
I was in conversational mood, and asked what kind of programming he was into, and I got the background of http://tcl.sourceforge.net/">Tcl. “It’s all strings, man” was the conclusion.
She sat next to me at a meet-and-greet geek dinner. A shock of personality, passion, and wit, all delivered in fast Danish.
I was stunned, of course. She knew Peter B. and Mike D. already, and we got invited to a little party, complete with karaoke videogames and weird cocktails. That, and lightly inebriated conversation.
When I left, a little early, I was still a bit stunned, but glad I’d met Peter and Mike’s friend. Felt like it wouldn’t be that last time.
